The Treasury Department Evaluates Commemorative $1 Trump Coin Featuring ‘Fight, Fight, Fight’ Inscription

Celebrating the quarter-millennial of the United States' independence, the treasury department is exploring the issuance of a $1 coin depicting Donald Trump with a clenched fist under an US flag and the words “fight, fight, fight”.

Symbolic Connection

This inscription directly references what Trump declared following surviving an assassination effort a few months before he secured a second presidency.

Official Revelation

US Brandon Beach effectively announced a preliminary design of the coin on Friday via X, stating: “Absolutely real. These drafts celebrating America’s 250th birthday and [Trump] are authentic.”

The online announcement – which highlighted another user reacting to the proposed design – indicated that Beach looked “eager to provide updates” after the conclusion of the temporary shutdown that started after late Wednesday when opposition lawmakers seeking compromises on medical care and other funding matters withheld the support necessary to pass a majority-backed budget proposal.

Legal History

As noted, in 2020, at the close of his first presidency, Trump approved jointly supported bill empowering the Treasury head to mint $1 coins during the calendar year 2026 that are “symbolic of the United States 250th anniversary”.

Appearance Details

One side of the coin on whose concept Beach weighed in this week displayed Trump’s portrait alongside “Liberty”, “In God We Trust”, and “from 1776 to 2026”.

The reverse alluded to the attempt on Trump’s life at a political rally in the state of Pennsylvania last year, when officials said a shooter injured Trump’s hearing and hurt two others before being killed by the Secret Service.

Trump clenched his hand after the attack – one of two attempted assassinations for him as he successfully ran for a return to the White House in 2024 – and shouted, “Fight, fight, fight!” with an American flag prominent nearby.

Department Comment

A statement from a Treasury representative clarified that the proposal which Beach’s X post discussed was not the “final $1 coin design”. But the response maintained that “this draft reflects well the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the wake of significant challenges”.

Administrative Backdrop

Trump’s public support on average has dropped to negative figures, as his new presidency has slashed healthcare protections and nutrition assistance that benefits the needy, while also enacting tariffs that came before a reported rise in cost of living.

Furthermore, the administration has also deployed US armed forces into the urban centers of various municipalities, axed roughly $500 million in support for inoculations such as the ones that played a role in stopping the global health emergency, and struggled to contain a controversy over his past friendship with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
