Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Update
Skydance Paramount plans to begin significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs as part of a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn under CEO David Ellison.
The layoffs are a result of the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August worth $8.4bn.
Additional international job cuts are likely, with the company intending to announce all specifics in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Previous updates suggested the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.
Until December 2024, the company employed about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond regarding the report.
